WATER MAIN FLUSHING NOTICE

May 16th. Flushing will take place in the Slatersville and Forestdale area between 8pm-11pm. (see below)

North Smithfield, RI - The North Smithfield Water Department joined with the Woonsocket Water Division, will be conducting an extensive water main flushing program beginning May 10, 2006 and continuing through May 26, 2006 between the hours of 4pm and 10 pm.

Flushing will  involve the opening of hydrants and valves.  Areas to be flushed are Forestdale, Slatersville, and the Industrial Park.

The purpose of the water-flushing is to enhance the distribution water quality and introduce Woonsocket water into our water distribution system.

Water main flushing can cause temporary reduction in water pressure, and in some cases, discolored water, which is not harmful.
